Default First ride to Izu .

Hi riders - planning an over night from Tokyo to Izu peninsula this week.

Are there any particular routes that come highly recommended?

Assuming you'll be heading out of Tokyo on the Tomei I would suggest exiting at Atsugi and jumping on the Odawara/Atsugi Road to the Toyo Tire Turnpike (RT-75) stopping at the top for some great views of MT Fuji and Lake Ashinoko. From there you can head over to the Izu Skyline. Get on that skyline and then I would suggest getting off at Heikawa and follow RT 12 into Shuzengi following the signs to the Nishi-Izu Skyline (I was just there today : ) ). Hopefully you will have either a NAVI or Mapple but once on Nishi Izu Skyline there are countless route options. Depending on where you are spending the night and how many hours you intend to spend riding you can pick any one of a number of roads to drop down to either coast and find your lodging.
