Default New Ride Honda CB250F ABS

So this morning and I went down to the Honda Dealership to pick up my very first bike!

I have to say I was very pleased with the deal as Honda matched the cheapest Japanese online shops I could find plus threw in a lot of options and extras - plus they had a campaign for new riders offering further discounts as well as extended service and support.

Big Cheesy grin on my face all afternoon!

Cheesy Grin shot after a nice blast down 246 and thankfully knowing where all the Shirobai were!

Some pithy saying about biking, or a quote from a self-styled guru. Take your pick.

    Nice!
Good choice to get a bike with ABS. saved me a couple of times over the years.

Looking forward to seeing you on the road! (and I can hopefully keep you in sight now compared to when you are on the muscle powered 2 wheeler)

    Thank you sir!

Exactly what my instructor said - the ABS was a no brainier and apparently in Japan it will become law for all new bikes to come with ABS as standard.

Thank you JAV - I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it - its also higher than the CB400 that I was learning on so feels right (Although saying that the suspension on the bikes at the driving school could have been shot!)

Is this going to be another way to keep foreign bikes out, or are many of them including ABS anyway?

ABS is basically going the same way as it did with cars - Why wouldn't you want it?
The EU has made ABS compulsory for all bikes over 125cc in 2016, bikes manufactured before this date are exempt.

So bikes from the EU will have no issues being sold in Japan.

But it seems most bike manufacturers are adding ABS as standard to a lot of their bikes as they try to corner a shrinking market - this in turn is good as it will drive down the costs!

That's a beautiful looking bike. I'll be looking for something similar once I get my licence. Might not be able to swing a brand new one though!

    Enjoy, sir!

I will be selling this in the next few months as I'm currently taking my Ogata license and will be upgrading to a larger capacity bike.

This was always the plan and my reasoning for buying new was that I would look after the bike and respect it rather than thrashing it and riding like a nutter. After 7 months that plan has panned out as my instructor told me that I hadn't picked up any bad habits since my Chugata test.

So if you are interested let me know.

OK, I'll let you know when I have my licence, thank you. I still think such a new vehicle will be out of my price range though!

Good luck with the big bikes!
