Default Where can I by online parts for older bikes?

Hey guys, long story short I was the victim of a hit and run outside my apartment. The damage was mostly cosmetic but now I am looking around for some parts and I am having trouble finding some.

I have a 1993 Honda Transalp (XL400V). I went to a local Honda dealership and they said, "Oh, we don't have any of those parts" which I find hard to believe. I am looking for some fairing parts, windscreen, and the blinker control unit (actually it's just the blinker button that's broken but I assume I have to buy the whole unit).

My Japanese google-fu is apparently weak because I am having a hard time finding an online retailer of parts. I found a couple European sites but I have a hard time thinking I need to ship parts from Europe for my Japanese bike. I have been keeping an eye on yahoo auctions but there are slim pickings now.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Lol, yeah I have been looking on yahoo auctions. Six months ago I looked and there were all sorts of parts but as soon as I want to actually buy some they are all gone.

Keep checking. It's an auction site so it's constantly changing, but keep checking back and you will succeed!

I have a business account with Custom Japan, it's not open to the public, but if you can find the exact parts and let me know the exact model with frame number I can possibly get prices for you.

I have a business account with Custom Japan, it is easy to open an account with them.. And absolutely worth it on many things. But not body parts😎

Thanks guys. I think right now I am looking for the vacuum piston/diaphragm for the carburetors. I would want to replace both. The manufacturer part number is 16111-MF5-841. And that would be for a 1993 Transalp XL400V.

Seems like that part number either doesn't exist or has been discontinued.

Original suppliers for most bikes that age would have stopped production, but for popular models there is usually something on yahoo auction or Amazon. Otherwise find an online forum for that type of bike. They'll help you.

Thanks for all the I guys. No regrets Klaus, any bike this age is going to have some hard to find parts.
