    Default Painting forks

My forks need an overhaul and I want to clean up the paint job while I'm at it. Honda bike with silver forks. I'm not looking to restore the bike to new condition, so I don't want to spend a packet.

I read on the net that standard paint will chip. 2 pack (2K) is an option, but can Imagine a shop will charge a lot for this.

    What have others done?

You can actually do the 2k yourself.
Places like NAPS and autobacs and yellow hat sell it.
So clean your forks. Find the color you wand and then ado buy the 2k not difficult. I did it for one of my bikes and cane out great.

    Thanks.
I've seen 2k cans on the net. That seems the best option.

Is scotchbrite ok for rubbing down chrome sliders? They are in good nick. Just need to clean off upper corrosion.

Possibly but I'd be Leary as you do not want to scratch the legs.
Here are a couple suggestions there's Simple Green the stuff rocks and Muck Off also rocks in addition try some 800 wet/dry sand paper and if you do it wet that should do the trick.

    Racer,
    Can I clarify?
Did you paint forks then use a two pack clear over the top?
