Unhappy Had to go to the doctor yesterday. Well, I hope I can get and ride a motorcycle one day.

Went to a pain specialist due to my back, hip, thigh, calve, ankle and toes were like, wtf happened. Couldn't sleep all night, twisting and turning and "holy shit", am I going to make through the night. Never experience anything like this before.
Well, after 3 xrays and the doctor going over my symptoms, he knew right away what is was. Sciatic Nerve problem. Never heard of it and now I can see why. I found out much of this happens when a person gets around 60 and older. I've been in pretty good shape most of my life. Ride a ATB bike for the last some 20 years here, walk, still practice karate moves (hitting the air) lol Well anyway, this pain really affects how I walk now, hopefully I'll regain full mobility. What happens is I just lose power in my left leg and it collapses. Like , wow. Was at Daiso today looking at them 200 yen canes. Doctor gave me a weeks supply of pain pills, so hopefully that should help. The med is called りりか but I can't fin any info on it.

OK, that's my story for today.

I had Sciatica in the past. Once after lifting heavy furniture and again after 24 hours in economy class flying from NZ to UK. Thankfully it went away pretty quickly, when I took care about sitting in very supportive seats. Hopefully if you look after your posture and your back you can rid yourself of it.

Some pithy saying about biking, or a quote from a self-styled guru. Take your pick.

Sorry to read that, Adventurous Biker. I have chronically pain in my back and when I was younger, I had several times sciatica crisis too (Two of my vertebral discs are pinched : one one the right, another one on the left...). Since I've lost weight, the back pain is strongly reduced (but not gone) and the sciatic's problems almost disappeared (but not totally : I had a bad episode three years ago, two weeks in the bed with pain killers). Well, my point is : if you're not already thin and can loose some weight, it will not cure you, but it will help.

Sorry to hear about that. My brother had it before he turned 30. It looked really brutal. Neither of us had any idea what it was, and he was in so much pain I called an ambulance.

Hey Guys, thanks so much. It means a lot to me. Even if I only own a 50cc scooter, you guys still pull through for me. Not sure even if I can ride the scooter, but I'm going to the shop to see today if I can, I sure hope so. I haven't rode it that much since I bought, but I sure have enjoy being on it and taking some "lousy" pictures. I'll try improve my artistic touch on the camera for you guys. Again, many thanks.

Oh, I almost forgot : I use sometimes a special belt, especially made for relieving lower back. I bought it in a drugstore, in France, years ago, but I'm sure a doctor could advice you a good one made in Japan. Here is the one I use, for you to see what it looks like : https://www.laboutiquedudos.com/cein...-lombaire.html
It's something you can wear only when you have a crisis, or when you've got pain, or when you know you'll make an effort : it really help, and reduce the pain. You have not to wear it always or too often, because if you do so, your muscles will become weak (the belt works for them).

Well, I still have it. On 4 りりか a day now. Yesterday, I heard of a Serow for sale ( I don't have license yet) but anyway went out to check it out. I got on it OK, but getting off of it was a big challenge, the muscle strain was at 119% lol, just terrible I tell ya.

Well, today is my second day of no りりか pain pill. Was up to 75 mgs though. Yesterday, went for a 3 hour scooter ride to Akiyoshido, Yamaguchi-ken and when I upped myself off the seat, well, the ole rear end felt some pain, mostly the hip. But other then that, I left the walking stick a while back and haven't had to use it again. Now, if all goes well for me next month, I'll be taking my chuugata license test (first time). I understand I have to pick up a laid down 400cc bike. I think I can do it.
