Default Wife is having surgery at the hospital tomorrow

This is the first time that she ever had to stay in the hospital and all the paper work and referrences from the other hospital, plus payment guarantor (something like that). It was 2 times to the hospital for check ups and test. Got to say, they really care about the older patients there. The staff today was very friendly and that made my wife fell some what relax, kind of.
She will be put to sleep for about 2 hours during the surgery. Luckily, the doctor there speaks English so he was able to talk to me about the procedure.
She'll be in for 3 days.

Speedy recovery is all that can be wished for!
And don't worry, those Japanese hospitals and doctors are not bad at all! (contrary to what some might say)

    Hi guys.
Thank you very much for all your kind concerns. Much appreciated. My wife has been discharged now with excellent results from her surgery. She is 70 years old and because of the blood flow was causing some side effects to her health, she decided with the doctor to do the surgery.
I would like to say a few things about the National Health Insurance.
We are on Kokumin kenkouhoken. At the age of 70 or maybe 65 the city works with the patient to get low cost insurance and hospital fee. One must go to the city to apply for it before the hospital stay.
She qualified because of her age and her income. My understanding was if her income was up there, she would not qualify.
So after 3 days in the hospital with anesthesia surgery and all the up to the minute communications and help, my wife's cost was 40000 yen. I don't think this would be possible in the States.
She is home now recovering and moving a bit slow, but she didn't loose her きびし with me.

Again, thank you all here. You guys are great.

Hi Kent, so many thanks for your kind concern. Today she is up and roaring to go. Not bad for a 70 year older.
